Orders ship from Dallas, Texas (USA). At checkout, you can choose options such as overnight or 2-business-day shipping. After you select a method, an estimated delivery date will display based on your location and choice.

Is the Lick Sleeve® washable?

Yes. The Lick Sleeve® is machine washable. Hang to dry or tumble on a low-heat cycle.

What's the fabric made of?

The fabric is 95% polyester and 5% spandex—chosen to be soft, breathable, and flexible. It helps keep the area comfortable while reducing trapped moisture that could increase infection risk.

Does my dog need to wear an e-collar with the Lick Sleeve®?

Most dogs should not need an e-collar in addition to the Lick Sleeve®. Exceptions include patients with higher anxiety or a history of chewing. Monitor your dog for the first few hours, and consider an e-collar at night or when unattended if they tend to chew. How can a male dog urinate with the sleeve on?

Unbuckle and unwrap the sleeve from around the dog’s waist to assist with urination, then resecure afterward. You can use the strap as a handle while the pet urinates. Watch the official demo video on this page.

Can I return the sleeve if my pet does not like it or it does not fit right?

What can I do if the Lick Sleeve® is too long for my dog?

You can trim the bottom of the sleeve with household scissors to prevent it from hanging past the paw—the material will not fray. You can also roll the end into a cuff.

Can my dog wear two sleeves at the same time?

Yes. Dogs may wear two sleeves simultaneously if needed, such as for bilateral procedures.

Do I need to specify the hind leg that’s having the procedure?

No. The Lick Sleeve® is reversible and will work for either the right or the left limb.

Can the Lick Sleeve® be used on front legs?

Yes. The Lick Sleeve® can be worn on front legs by crossing the long strap across the chest. Use the right side of the sleeve for the right front limb and the left side for the left front limb.

Is there an alternative to a dog cone?

Traditional e-collars (“cones”) can hinder sleeping, eating, drinking, and movement. Alternatives include soft e-collars, inflatable collars, neck control collars, or our patented Lick Sleeve® leg sleeve. It has helped so much with my dog’s long recovery from a mass removal. I would ask for a little more variation in size for breed differences. I have a bully breed with a large chest. He wears the large which fits length wise but the chest is tight and causes rubbing along the line where the suit is. If I ordered an extra large it would be WAY too long. Otherwise amazing product!

The lick sleeve worked fantastic for keeping her wound clean. The stitches were between her ribs that ran about 4 inches towards her hind legs. When she had the suit on, she never attempted to lick her wound site. When I took it off to give her a break from the suit, she did try licking the wound with her cone on. Love this product and definitely worth the money. If my other dog ever has to have surgery, I will purchase one for her!

Our 9 year old, 80 pound lab had a massive tumor removed and it took 30 stitches to suture. It was a nasty incision because of all the tissue that had to be removed. We were very worried about keeping her from scratching with her back feet so a cone wasn’t even an option. The surgeon recommended the lick sleeve recovery suit. We bought the XL. The photos show the incision the day before the suit arrived and 5 days later after wearing the suit. She tolerated the suit extremely well. I definitely recommend this if your dog likes to be as difficult as mine is. She was hit by a car and ended up with a large open wound on her back hip. This was recommended by my dog's surgeon after bladder surgery. The issue was that she was urinating blood every 15 min-1 hr after surgery over the course of 5-7 days so we couldn't take the back off in time for her to go and it just kept getting wet and bloody which defeated the entire purpose of the suit and keeping her wound dry. She is also prone to UTIs so unfortunately, she wore it for about 5 minutes and never put it back on. Its a shame because it was very expensive.

The lick sleeve suit is pretty good. I had to have a little more material added (the red part) to the leg so my dog couldn’t get to the stitches on his wound. It was also very tight. My dog weighs 42 pounds so the medium did fit but it was really tight. I didn’t have time to send it back and try the large but it probably would have been too large. So…. Great product with great fabric but I think there it should be longer in the legs and maybe update the sizes.

I had to size up because he is a golden with a lot of hair. This is excellent quality and gave great protection. It kept the wound covered with breathable cooling and flexible fabric, keeping it clean. A couple times he went to scratch the incision area with his back paw and a cone would not have provided protection in this instance. He seemed to be comfortable in the suit as well, and it’s easy to put on and unzips down the back so you have easy access to monitor healing. I am so thankful this was invented!!

The lick sleeve is really easy to put on my two dogs. One was recovering from having a few small growths removed on his body and the body suit was perfect to wear so he wouldn’t try to itch at the stitches. One thing to check is the broadness and size of your dogs chest. I ordered an extra large because it fit my dogs length and weight, but it was too tight in the chest (90 lb male boxer breed). The extra extra large worked perfectly. The lick sleeve support quickly exchanged my order and was very helpful. This company sells great products. I have both the body suit and the leg sleeve. It makes cones useless. These are a way better alternative to the cone and in my opinion the only solution.

I just had to purchase another lick sleeve for my doodle because her hot spots are so bad and I need to have one to put on her while I wash the other and wait for it to air dry.
