My puppy, George, had gotten to his sutures twice and I had to take him back to the vet each time. I looked at a lot of different kinds of precautions for him but he was always too big. I found the LickSleeve and when it was within his measurements, I ordered it immediately. The sleeve has been everything that we needed. Thank you.
Anne W.
The sleeve works beautifully! When I was looking to place an order, the customer service person was extremely helpful.

The slick sleeve definitely made it easier for our 18 month old Great Pyrenees to recover from knee surgery. We were able to remove her cone & allow her to eat, drink, and sleep more comfortably. She hardly noticed that the sleeve was on her leg. Her incision site healed quickly with no complications.

This is a great product! I bought one and then another a few days after my dog was home from surgery. Just easier to have one clean when needed. Just make sure it’s snug or it can slide off their back.
Jeanne B.
It is going to work great thank you!
Mic W.
Our GD mastiff mix had TPLO surgery almost 2 weeks ago. It was hard finding a sleeve for 170 lbs girl. The sleeve took minute to get it adjusted on her tummy/hips. It didn't slide off. It did it's job !! She did not mess with it at all. Thank you
Dwight P.
Well I ordered the wrong size which is my fault, then the first night I put the new size on she got out of it which was my fault I should have wrapped it a little tighter but after I fixed those problems it work pretty decently..
Jennifer L.
I absolutely love our lick sleeve. Our dog had acl surgery and was going nuts with his cone. I ordered one of these and WOW. Problem solved. He got used to it very quickly, and doesn’t even know it’s there. I couldn’t go through two weeks of the cone, and this is so nicely made. It’s very nice material and is sewed so nicely. The bottom was a little tight and long so I cut it off, and there’s been no fraying at all. It stays on well and is super simple to take off for potty breaks. Just make sure and fasten it snugly enough because I left it somewhat loose the first night and he somehow wriggled out of it. The best part is it’s reversible if he needs surgery on his other leg. I’m taking our dog in tomorrow for the two week checkup and I’m showing the vet so that they can recommend it to other customers. It certainly saved my sanity (and my dog’s!)

Perfect for my golden doodle. This product is durable and convenient. Better than those hard cones
Pam B.
What a difference from the cozy cone, much happier girl
emily g.
I wish I had bought 2! You all should offer some kind of deal if you buy 2 at a time. I already need to wash it and it’s only been on 1 day. Need to be able to alternate them.
Amy L.
Worked exactly as I hoped. I was able to give my dog a lot of cone-free time after her TPLO surgery which made her recovery much more comfortable.
Becca B.
Life saver! Traditional e-collar was making our golden so anxious where she wasn't sleeping or letting us sleep. The lick sleeve allowed her to recover from TPLO safely and gave us peace of mind...and some extra sleep! The XL was a little big on her 80lbs belly so we swapped for an L. The process was quick and easy and the replacement was at our door the next day so she could continue to recover in comfort.
Randy F.
Works as advertised.
Christie S.
This is perfect after ACL surgery on Thunder. He didn’t mind wearing it and it kept him from licking incision. Highly recommend!!
Ashley B.
LIFE SAVER!!! The comfort of your dog is one of the most important things when recovering from a minor or invasive surgery. Not having to wear a cone at all or majority of the time is so great for them mentally. Thank you for inventing this product!
chantel H.
Barilla much preferred this to the cone. It never once came off. Thank you so much for making my dogs recovery a little less stressful for the both of us.
Sharon C.
It's so much better than the cone of shame. One improvement we might suggest is that, for dogs with just a knub of a tail like our Boxer mix, it needs something to prevent it from slipping down off his back. He was constantly "losing his drawers " as he rooched around in his dog bed and needed them to be pulled back up.
Elizabeth W.
It doesn't stay on the dog while they are sleeping if like our dog that loves to roll over from side to her back and to her side again.
Zeebah H.
Our dog had MPL surgery and I feel so comfortable she is in the sleeve. She's only 1 years old! So she has a lot of energy and confusion about the cone. I do use the cone when I am not around but the sleeve gives me extra comfort since the Staples on her leg and knee are so exposed. She is able to use the bathroom (1 and 2) with the sleeve on.. which is fantastic. She sleeps with it on and doesn't notice. I was able to cut the bottom a bit because she is a little short. She may need another knee surgery on the other leg one day, but atleast the sleeve can be re used. Thank you for this!

I originally gave this product a poor review because I had the wrong size and tried to exchange for a larger size and never got an email. However, after posting the review I received an email apologizing for the oversight and offering a refund. As luck would have it a friend of a friend needed one in the size I had and had one in the size I needed so we traded. It works soooooo well. It has saved my sanity! It seems to be very comfortable, doesn’t stretch out, stays out of the way of bathroom time and stays put. So very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend if you have a pup who will be needing a cone of shame.
Christina M.
Our 14 year old GSP/Lab mix was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma on her left thigh. The incision is about 8 inches long. I purchased the Lick Sleeve after my neighbors dog underwent TPLO surgery, and saw how comfortable it appeared to be. I cannot recommend this more highly! It didn't bother her at all and kept the entire incision covered. She had complete freedom of movement. She is 55 lbs and the medium fit her perfectly.
Thank you Lick Sleeve!
Tammy T.
The lick sleeve has been great! We still put my dog’s cone in at night but it gives us peace of mind during the day while we are home.
My only complaint would be it’s not male dog friendly.
I don’t mind having to take it off when he goes to the bathroom, stays cleaner, but when one it covers up and rubs his male parts.
Would be nice to have a male version, but I understand the difficultly in doing that.
Overall, great device.
Kimberly H.
This has been a lifesaver. My golden was completely strung out when using the cone—this sleeve has been a game changer during recovery. Well constructed, high quality, and timely.
Lois M.
Lick sleeve was a live saver for my Rottie that had a TPLO and then a year later had to have a second surgery to remove the metal plate. The Vets recommended she wear a neck cone while healing which she hated. The lick sleeve was all she needed. We are still on leash walks only and sutures come out tomorrow. She will probably wear the sleeve for another 10 days. Excellent product!! For female dogs it is easy because they can poddy with it on. Not sure about a male dog.
Tom S.
I came across this on YouTube looked more into it, and this was the perfect solution because my dog hates umbrellas, awnings and putting a cone on her for her TPLO surgery was going to be a nightmare. So far this has been perfect. I’m into my second day from picking her up and she’s in a lot of pain but that licks sleeve compared to having a cone. Makes it 1 million times easier for her to get around and less stressful thinking about getting it., get it!
Christine W.
Works amazingly well! Finally some peace for our dog after 2 surgeries and one stubborn infection, she can ditch the cone! Everyone in the household is so much more comfortable!
S. L.
One of the best purchases I have ever made for my pup! My dog could recover from his surgery without the nuisance cone. He was able to reposition himself during rest periods without any issues. I never had to worry about him licking the incision areas and/or messing with the sutures, especially overnight. The sleeve design is super easy to take on and off. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone!
Mel S.
I could not be more thankful that we found this product. It’s been a total game changer for us! Highly recommend!!
DIANE M.
Our golden doodle had tightrope surgery on her knee. They sent us home with a cone. She was walking into everything. We found licksleeve online and it has been a godsend. She doesn’t mind it at all and we are able to confidently leave her and not worry that she will lick. Thank you! They should sell these in the vets office
Georgia B.
This has been a savior in disguise! Absolutely would recommend this to anyone! It has given me peace of mind!
Wanda M.
My pup hates cones and he would have been anxious and constantly trying to shake it off. Lick Sleeve is perfect. He's comfortable, the surgery site is protected and I don't have to worry about him being miserable with a cone or licking at his sutures. Great product!
Kathryn R.
TPLO Surgery. High anxiety lab. 8 weeks of minimal activity. Lick Sleeve over the cone of shame??? No contest. Riley was so much more comfortable with her "new pants". She tried to nibble a couple of times, but for the most part left it alone. She was able to sleep, eat, recover comfortably and happier. Best invention ever! Thank you!!
Judith
The lick sleeve has been a life saver! Out dog Buddy throughly disliked the cone collar. Even the inflatable one.
Buddy had surgery for both a torn ALC/CCL and meniscus.
Since wearing this lick sleeve, he had not bothered his incision at all.
Thank you for making such a great product!

Hello.
My beautiful German Short Haired Pointer had a brutal surgery on her left hind leg. She is battling cancer, her lymph node on her leg was removed.
I was trying to find some after surgery wraps for her leg. I found some leg wraps on Chewy , bought them, but nothing really fit her. Then I came across your lick sleeve and was amazed. It fitts like a glove.
Honestly, the softness, the brain behind this product is truly amazing, even her veterinarian was impressed.
I don't know how thank you enough.
I can sleep now knowing that she won't lick her many stitches. (The head cone didn't work and she was miserable in it). Thank you again! Incredible product!

Concept is great but my Great Dane managed to chew through it. Probably works better for littler/less powerful pups.
Lisa U.
Ease of use. After several days of wearing the Lick sleeve, my dog hasn’t been able to remove it. It is more comfortable for him than a cone, It did take a little bit of time for my dog to adjust to it, but I feel it has been a good alternative from the cone .
Janice A.
We were previously given a Lick Sleeve through the vet, but it was way too long in the leg. So we ordered this medium. It took 3 business days to arrive, and then still didn't fit any better than the L
large we got from the vet. Our dog is of an odd size; a Beagle-mix. She is short and stocky. We are Hoping that we can return the medium since we had it on her long enough to see that it wouldn't fit.
Tom S.
My dog Lucy hasn’t even had the TPLO surgery yet, it’s next week and I’ve been looking up different ways of treating her what to expect. She’s nine years old since birth. She hated umbrellas and outdoor awnings patio furniture with umbrellas. It’s like the weirdest thing so we put a cone on her once and that was the most awful thing I’ve ever done. I came across this product. I ordered it that night. These are pictures of her getting used to it and she loves it. She doesn’t even care if she’s wearing it. This is gonna be the best thing ever in the life of man thank you so far. I’m reading 1 billion.
Albert B.
Works great. So much less stressful for our dog.
Dagmar J.
My dog Zoe had surgery for a torn ACL and a torn meniscus. I knew that I wanted to try some type of sleeve so that she doesn’t have to wear a cone for weeks. I ordered the lick-sleeve and I am so glad I did. I think my dog is very happy too. It fits perfect over her hind leg and it is so easy to put on and to take it off.
Customer service was exceptional when I had to order another size for my dog. I would recommend this product in a heartbeat. Love it!
John K.
My dog is loving not to wear a cone!
Paul B.
It was a good concept, however in my experience, the lick sleeve never quite provided the consistent coverage I had hoped for. It would shift around, and after a while it either fall off or my dog would find a way out of it. One of the straps also rubbed a rash onto his stomach. He eventually found a way out of it and destroyed it one day when I was at work. Just a really mid-tier experience.
June L.
The sleeve works well, it is a great tool to protect our 8 year old English Springer’s TPLO incision. It worked the best for us the first 10-12 days after surgery; our dog started licking the sleeve and soaking it over his knee and hip joint areas, so we went back to using the cone at night and when he is left alone, the sleeve the rest of the time. But again, it’s a great option.
Michie R.
My Mandy had her second TPLO surgery - the first one on her left knee 9 months ago, and now her right knee. I did not have the licksleeve for her first surgery so she wore a donut around her neck for about 3 weeks.
This time, we have the licksleeve and she is fine wearing it. I only use the donut on her at night or when we wash her licksleeve. She is getting over her surgery much more quickly this time around so that the main problem is keeping her from running and jumping after only 2 weeks.
I recommend the licksleeve for anyone whose dog has to have the TPLO surgery.
Sue
This post surgical aid is as good as advertised, or maybe even better. I was nervous bringing my dog home and caring for him after TPLO surgery. The sleeve gave me confidence to meet his needs. It is versatile- protecting the incision site, and also converts to the sling when taking short walks for elimination. Invaluable ! Thank you for making this assistive device.
Frances S.
Our 13 year old lab mix had developed an abscess that was slow to heal. We tried donuts and ecollars but they confused her. The lick sleeve has been perfect. After the first few minutes I don't think she noticed she was wearing it. It is very easy to check and clean the area. I wish we had gotten the sleeve sooner.
pamela a b.
So much better than a cone!
Timothy F.
You all were great with facilitating the return. It's a great product. I didn't end up using it because the doctor insisted on the cone and she was reacting to me going near her surgical site and so I never used it. Even without the cone she was never interested in licking her incision site and well, she's all healed up now. There may be a time in the future when I will need it so I will keep it and treasure it. But hopefully there won't be a second surgery.
Delaney
Love it. She is so much more comfortable than if we had an e-collar.
Tracy T.
Quality material, but it was way too small for our Papillion with an XS. It would be great if there was a smaller size for a smaller dogs.
Jonna B.
We are so glad to have found Lick Sleeve just prior to our girl's TPLO surgery. So much more comfortable for her than the cone. Because she is comfortable and relaxed, the healing process has been so much better for her. What a great product!
Richard B.
The idea is great! Protect skin and not impose the cone. The material is excellent, and we like that it is reversible left vs right. Sizing is a bit disappointing. You must get the leg dimensions correct. That's easy. There is a belly band and strap that is a great idea for holding the sleeve up, but too tight even with strap clip slid to maximum.
Mary W.
My 10 month old puppy had knee surgery. First few days I used a cone. Then switched to the lick sleeve on day four. Never saw my dog try to lick or tear at the sleeve.
Sleeve is well made and easy to adjust and put on. Directions were great.
Lorri
Product was very easy to don and doff {on and off}. Soft material. provides our canine with the opportunity to be protected and have access to water simultaneously. Fit perfect.
Deb F.
Great product! Much better than having your dog wear a cone! Soft and comfortable, easy to get on and off and machine washable. The only slight problem is that it stretches out a little and occasionally slips off the back of the dog's bottom, but still very helpful!
LeiAnn V.
Great product, exactly what we needed after surgery.
Charlene S.
The lick sleeve works great. My sweet girl Piper who is very stubborn leaves it alone and does not mind wearing it.
Kelly B.
We have always delt with those annoying cones. This was so much better and an amazing invention. I love that our vet suggested it and it was easy to size and use.
Elisabeth F.
As you can see from the photo, my Foster Dog is happily busy with a toy. She had a cancerous tumor removed from her right rear leg. The surgeon gave us an e-collar AND a Lick Sleeve. She said our dog should use both. The Lick Sleeve worked so well that we never used the e-collar. It doesn't bother her at all and we are thrilled. We would happily recommend this for all dogs who might need it.
Wendy K.
Perfect -my German shepherd is probe to hotspots mostly occurring on his hip -the licksleeve prevents him from excessive licking and allows healing much faster!
Melissa R.
The Lick Sleeve was a lifesaver for our family! Our dog had TPLO surgery and the humans in our house couldn’t stand to see him with the cone on. He was constantly trying to lick the incision site, so it meant I had to watch him 24/7! That wasn’t working…so I read the reviews on the Lick Sleeve and decided to try it. It takes the worry out of leaving your dog unattended, it fits like a legging and is so much easier for maneuvering through the house! No more running into the door jams or walls! We cut the bottom to fit the length of his leg. Highly recommended!!!
Larry M.
What I love is that I don't have to stress my dog and myself out with a cone! I do think maybe there could be design improvements as the belly band scrunches up and the strap slides off at times and sometimes even loosens up. maybe something not as flimsy for the belly band that won't scrunch up as easy and maybe some sort of velcro to hold the strap in place? I'm not an engineer or designer but, I love the idea of this and just think it could evolve even better.
Carrie L.
This was a life saver! I highly recommend it.
Sara S.
Such a great alternative to the cone of shame to avoid our gal licking her incision site! Thank you for making such a high quality and easy to use product!! It seems to be very comfortable for our dog, is easy to wash, and is a great fabric that doesn’t encourage other fur, lint, etc to stick to it which is great!!
Joyce S.
I went through 2 other sleeves that my aussie was able to get off her leg before I found out about LickSleeve. Not only does she not try to take it off, but she can move freely with it and go for walks. It's soft and strong and protects her leg sore, which is finally healing.
Jamie D.
Our doctors really love this product!
Jennifer C.
Came in very handy post-surgery, we love it
Paul
My boxer had TPLO surgery and did not do well with a cone. It was off before we got out of our vet’s parking lot. (Had similar experience when he was neutered at 8 months old.) Fortunately we anticipated it this time and our vet recommended the LickSleeve. He doesn’t mind it and it definitely makes life easier. A little chaffing around his belly but not bad.
Jeanne B.
Did a wonderful job with my dog.
Ronald K.
Seems to be working really well, I just wish you would design one for male dogs so that you don’t have to take it off every time you take the dog out
Pamela B.
Thank you! My 13 year old lab was smarter than her humans. She chewed out stitches and reapplied staples. We went through a soft cone and plastic cone. My vet in northern Michigan had never seen this before and was properly impressed.
Cynthia
This company is amazing!
Cynthia
It’s amazing!!!!
Great company!!!
Andrea B.
Our 5 year old American pitbull terrier had TPLO surgery on his left leg. We tried a cone and he would go bonkers trying to get it off so I gave in and purchased the lick sleeve. It was a huge life saver and I highly recommend! It is so easy to take on and off and he doesn’t mind having it on. It keeps the wound covered when we go outside and on top of that it has allowed me to get a good nights rest without having to worry!!
Deborah
Would not stay on my dog was not useful
Sophie H.
We LOVE this product. It works perfectly for our dog after his TPLO surgery. The lick sleeve has allowed our dog to sleep in his crate comfortably at night and gives us piece of mind that it’s covered properly until the incision site heals. The little touches to this product I appreciate - easy to wash, simple design and color (love that it says left or right side bc if you are in a hurry to put it back on), and the material is light but also stays in place. Knowing what I know now about recovering from a major leg surgery, I would have purchased 2 so we can switch one out every day for a fresh clean one. Also, all my friends who have seen pictures of his sleeve think he’s wearing paw-leisure wear
Shirley K.
It's wonderful and easy to use
J S.
Cones are awful for pets, but necessary when your dog is licking a sore after surgery and it won't heal. Instead, I now take the sleeve off to check her wound and scratch her back and she runs around for a few minutes. The minute I pick up the sleeve, she runs back to me and stands patiently while I put it on her. Amazing! AND her wound is healing well. Recommend the LIck Sleeve highly!
Cynthia H.
So it's day two after TPLO surgery and the Lick Sleeve has been a Godsend. My pup wasn't thrilled with the E-Collar so with this sleeve, I've been able to go without. Best invention out there!
Linda E.
We tried several options before trying this. I think I would have sized up or at least ordered two and tried them. This seems to cover her incision but just barely so I'm wondering if a larger size would have been better.
It's really convenient to have on so she can use the bathroom without having take the sleeve off. She got used to having it on fairly quickly.
The material is soft and comfortable.
The directions and packaging are easy to understand and follow.
Karen D.
Worked very well. Used Bitter Yuck on the sleeve to help keep my dog from bothering it.
Mary B.
This is amazing! Soft, comfortable and our Ella hasn’t complained a bit. So much better than the cone!
Sandy W.
The Lick Sleeve is amazing! Last year our dog had surgery on left hind leg. I struggled finding ways to keep her from licking the incision. Everything from old socks to multiple product bought and returned on Amazon . This year she had surgery on her right rear leg and the vet sent her home with the Lick Sleeve. What a difference! It stays on, it’s lightweight, and she doesn’t try to get to her incision. I am so impressed that I also purchased one so we’d have 2. I wish I would have known about this product last year. Thank you!
Laurie F.
Customer service was wonderful! The product got here quickly, it was very well made, but just not a fit for my very large dog.
I’m very grateful for finding a group of people so dedicated to helping people and their dogs.
Andrea G.
Wallace was so much more comfortable in his lick sleeve versus the traditional cone. He was able to rest more comfortably and have more freedom of movement. He is wearing a large and honestly I think he could have gone down to a medium size as well- he is a tall dog who weighs 80 pounds-so I would recommend sizing down-he was at the top end of the measurements for the large/low end for the extra large. 10/10 recommend.
Shelly H.
I loved the Lick Sleeve, it worked perfect for our dogs leg, however I did return this, because we have an older male dog and he uses a doggie door, so we didn't want to have to unwrap and hold the strap every time he needed to use the restroom.
Andrea B.
What an ingenious idea! Simple, streamlined design and made with fabric stretchy enough to feel comfortable on a dog. My dog doesn't mind having hers on at all and she's picky. And, I just noticed that when it is turned inside-out, it fits the other leg. That is handy to know as she may need TPLO surgery on her right leg in the future. I'm very happy and pleased with my purchase.
Nikki F.
Our Staffy, Rosie, recently had ACL surgery and the Lick Sleeve is working great for her recovery, I would recommend the product if you want to keep your dog from licking the area after surgery, it is keeping the stitches nice and dry so it can heal properly.
Karen L D.
The lick sleeve is wonderful. I rubbed it with Bitter Yuck and it kept my dog from licking and bothering her incision from her TPLO surgery.
Nicole D.
provides a nice break from her cone time while she is recovering from her tplo
Crystal S.
I thought I was hallucinating...I got a shipping notification 15 minutes after I placed my order. How often does that happen? The sleeve got here quickly, fit perfectly and instructions were clear and helpful. Very impressed by the company and highly recommend the product!
Heidi K.
Nice product worked great through the day, but fell off at night glad we kept the cone on. Great company to work with very responsive to emails.
Misti C.
Lick Sleeve made my dog's life so much easier when she was recovering from TPLO surgery. She didn't have to wear the cone of shame. Thank you for such a great product to make everyone's life easier.
Rose T.
Has made a real difference in Ruby’s comfort level!
Sandra
Great product!! Is making recovery bearable for my pet!!
Sandra S.
Excellent for protecting surgery site!!! Able to tighten at night to ensure my pup doesn’t get it off and chew wound. Was difficult to get on at first as the leg part was too long but once I was able to cut to size it worked perfectly!! Peace of mind when I need to relax and not monitor her!!
