One week post surgery and she is doing great. She doesn’t pay attention to the Lick Sleeves at all. After cutting the bottom two inches off they go on very easy
Susan C.
Loved it, but i did not get it tight enough and it would fall off her hips... .my fault. It did keep her from licking while she had it on
Dianna J.
Excellent product would recommend it to everyone whose dog is having leg surgery. Surgeon who did the surgery on my dog likes the product to. Customer service very nice and very helpful.

My sweet boy Lenny was unexpectedly diagnosed with a mast cell tumor in his right leg. After his tumor was removed, his wound opened up twice after being re sutured. We tried wrapping his leg and even using yoga pants but none of it worked. We were struggling on how to cover Lenny’s leg until lick sleeve. I am so grateful to have found something that’s worked! Thank you!!

The Licksleeve has truly been a godsend for our 80 lb husky. This is her second ACL surgery and thanks to the licksleeve she has been able to heal and rest faster than having to use the awful cone of shame. Highly Highly recommended!!
John C.
A quality item that is carefully manufactured. The fit was very good but I would suggest that that double wrap around material with the clasp be made such that it does not slide towards the back. perhaps some Velcro be added to keep the overlapping material/pieces together. The actual material is excellent and allows wounds to heal even though covered.

My Boerboel had her CCL repaired and the cone she was given was WAY TOO BIG. The Lick Sleeve was a LIFESAVER! Easy to put on and impossible for them to get off. She would lick the area over the incision and the sleeve would not get wet. She was able to walk with no restriction and use bathroom without getting it soiled. The material is soft and breathable. Definitely worth getting! Its been making her recovery less stressful for her, and I!!
Liz N.
So grateful for licksleeve. My dog recently had TPLI surgery. She refused to stand up or eat in the cone or donut so we gave this a try. Unfortunately our first lick sleeve wasn’t snapping closed properly, customer service could not have been better. I spoke with them around 5:30 pm and by the next day a replacement lick sleeve was delivered to my home. Would 100% recommend doing business with this company to anyone!
Christina H.
It worked!!
100% would buy one again!
John R.
Has worked great. Much better alternative to the e-collar…
Garth P.
I bought these for my golden retriever’s bilateral TPLO surgery and very happy that I did. The surgeon okayed them as long as my dog tolerated them. Initially they were pretty tight due to swelling and fluid buildup, but after reaching out to Lick Sleeve I cut 2” off of the bottom and they were perfect. My dog Lucy doesn’t even notice them on. We’re very lucky that she is pretty docile and isn’t a big licker, but this is added security to prevent her from licking when her cone isn’t on.
Eliot M.
Love the sleeve, however my dog still needs a collar. Sleeve works to keep wound clean
Anna C.
I was worried this was going to be hard to pull onto a tender surgical dog leg...but it wasn't! Easy to get on and off and my pup was comfortable wearing it. So much better than a cone!
Linda P.
8 days post-op TPLO surgery and haven’t needed the cone once!
Susan
The Licksleeve is a God Send. It has given our Husky so much rest and comfort following her second ACL surgery. She didn’t sleep for the 1st 2 nights wearing the Cone of Shame. I highly recommend the sleeve! 10 out of 10!
Debbie S.
Great product. Just takes some for the dog to get used to it
Tom S.
Bought this a week before my Dog's Lucy first TPLO Surgery. I was so worried about the cone. Lucy was going to freak out. I started looking up alternatives. Came across this miracle device. She wore it without a blink in her life. It was amazing.
As of today 6/26/25 I just brought her home from 2nd TPLO Surgery today. She has it on as I'm writing this review. It blows me away not every Vet clinic doesn't know about this company. After her first TPLO Surgery my vet had never seen the Lick Sleeve.
I was more worried about the cone than the Surgery the first time. The Lick Sleeve is a game changer.
Katie S.
We needed it for extreme licking after tplo. It is comfy and now he can live in the house 8 weeks post op without cone or fear of more antibiotics.
Lori S.
Soooo much better than a cone on your poor dogs head. They are more comfortable and Mom and Dad get a good night's sleep. Highly recommend
Angela
This item worked really well for our dog. The only issue I had was that we measured according to what they recommended,it fit our dog tight. He has very long legs. He is a Weimer Reiner so take that into consideration. Go up one size for dogs with long legs.
Johnna B.
The Lick Sleeve was a life saver for us after our dog had ccl surgery. We have a Swedish Vallhund (corgi-like stature) who's on the larger size for the breed; the medium sleeve was perfect, though we did have to roll up the length a little. It was so much more comfortable for him than using a collar, was easy to put on and take off, and it kept his incision dry when we took him out into the wet grass. It was worth every penny!
Anthony S.
Really work great for my pup, I even bought a second one
Kate E.
We tried three types cones, two infers sleeves and went back for popped stitches and lack of healing before we were pointed by our vet to the lick sleeve. I wish we had gotten here first. Well worth the cost.
Page H.
Our 82 lb Malanois Shepherd had TPLO surgery and was so depressed wearing the cone. The Lick Sleeve is so much easier to manage and he wasn’t bothered by it in the least bit. He wore it for almost two weeks while his stitches healed and now we are using it at night for the next week.
Susan C.
It is great, but i cant get it tight enough and it slides off her butt and when i wake up it is off. It prob is my fault though.
Natali .
my dog hates the cone but does not seem to mind lick sleeve!
Debra K.
The lick sleeves are working great. Our dog, Maggie, needed bilateral TPLOs and will be in these several weeks. These give her so much freedom. So much better than the cone which she does not tolerate. Hope we never need them again, but they are well worth the money.
Heather M.
Excellent way to keep my dog away from her incision. I use it mostly at night. Better than the cone.
Rob R.
My nine year old Kiara managed to tear her ACL and had to have surgery. I was told she had to wear a cone for at least 14 days so she would not mess with the wrapping of her back right leg. Then a friend told me about Lick Sleeve, which he had used on his dog years ago. When he said that with Alex leave the dog did not need to wear a cone, I immediately investigated your product. I called to get recommendations on size and was reassured by nice young man on the phone that the product was guaranteed and if we needed to exchange it for a different size that it would be done. I ordered a medium based on his recommendations. It fit her perfectly! We have had absolutely no problems with her trying to get to her bandages. Plus she actually seems to like wearing her Lick Sleeve. She seems to think of it as a fashion accessory! I am VERY pleased with the product.

Product is very poor quality - stitching is off centre of sleeve. VERY disappointing as we’re Canadian customers and this product was very costly compared to others and the quality is substandard. Will definitely not recommend this product.
Eliot M.
Sleeve works great on the hind leg. Unfortunately our dog quickly licked or bite a hole in the sleeve within 48 hours. On the good side, it was quickly within 24 hours replaced by the company. What we are left with is having to wear a collar, and the sleeve acts to keep the bandages on her leg and to keep it clean. Overall satisfied
Charlotte B.
Easy to use and I don't have to worry about it falling off. The incision is always covered.
Lisa F.
Our dog had a botched growth removal and has worn a cone since April 3rd. And she was still able to get to the bandages. I cried when I came home and she hadn't touched the sleeve and she didn't have a cone on. I highly recommend the sleeve!!!
Kimberly N.
Xxl worked great on our 120 pound Pyrenees/lab. Much better alternative than a cone!
Timothy S.
Fast delivery, great fit, prevented our dog from licking her stitches, and allowed us to take our eye off of her for more than 5 seconds.
Cassandra K.
The lick sleeve is keeping my girl Sophie from getting at her surgical sight! This is a life saver!!
Lynne F.
Works perfectly. Keeps my dog from licking his incision.
Adam H.
A bit expensive for what it is, but it works well and saves my dog from having to a wear a cone. Glad I purchased it!
Jordyn L.
The quality is fantastic. It’s made with durable, breathable fabric that doesn’t irritate my dog’s skin and fits snugly without being too tight. It stays in place perfectly, even when he’s moving around or going for gentle walks. It gave me peace of mind knowing his leg was fully protected, and he seemed much more comfortable and relaxed. The design is sleek, easy to put on, and doesn’t restrict his movement. If your dog is recovering from ACL surgery—or any leg injury—you NEED the Lick Sleeve. It’s one of the best purchases I’ve made
Linda B.
Good coverage only problem is on male dog have to unwrap to urinate other than that satisfied with product
Carol R.
Very nice design, but seems to get very snug around the tummy area, during normal, correctly fitted wear.
Works excellent for keeping the wound inaccessible.
Ed And Diane Y.
The sleeve works great
Tom K.
It works well with our mini Goldendoodle who had a CCL surgery! It protects him to lick the incision very well. Since he does not like an E-collar this is the best alternative!
Bonnie N.
Great fit and comfy for our dog
Jason R.
The lick sleeve fits my dog like a glove and will be very helpful for her upcoming surgery. Thank you!
Kathryn R.
So much better than the neck collar for dogs. My dog is comfortable and happy in her lick sleeve! It keeps the wound site protected and clean
Felica P.
The Small fits great and our dog is as been getting use to it easily before surgery.
Eliot M.
Received the sleeve last week. Fits great on our dog after a cancer was removed from back leg. Unfortunately our dog licked it so much that a hole formed in the sleeve. I called the company. Basically no questions asked, shipped out a new one to be received today, less than 24 hours after the call. Bottom line: great service and a nice fitting sleeve. This is the way all companies should support their products

Flash had TPLO surgery and he was able to get the cone off his head so we got two of these in case one gets wet we can wash and dry that one and put on the fresh one. It's comfortable for Flash he walks fine with it on. He's a male so we have to remove it to go out to use the bathroom. If it gets wet at least it's antimicrobial so the germs are not getting to it.
Mark T.
Dog can lick through the material, put bandage underneath.....and then somehow, after 6 days, he was able to get it off!?
Rowena B.
Great alternative to a traditional cone collar. Our pup was so much more comfortable! Would highly recommend.
Erin H.
The Lick Sleeve is truly great! It gave me peace of mind and is a must have for back leg recovery. It’s really easy for a dog to get to their back legs even with a cone, so the Lick Sleeve gave me peace of mind.
Dorothy R.
The Lick Sleeve worked great for our doodle who had TPOL, torn meniscus and tumor removal surgery. She did not like the cone but didn't mind the sleeve at all.
KATHY F.
Lick sleeve is wonderful. Very much like the ease of movement it allows and very comfortable for the dog.
Joanna R.
Très bon produit
Debbie M.
It was nice for me to give my dog Belle a break from wearing her cone.
She would agree.
Amanda R.
This sleeve has kept us from using an uncomfortable and annoying cone after ACL surgery. Love it! Worth the investment.
Ralph A.
Worked out great. Much better option than the cone of shame
Sean S.
Great product, very helpful for my dog's recovery from surgery!
Tyler P.
The Lick Sleeve was worth every penny! Dottie had to have both ACLs replaced but due to her size, she could only get one leg done at a time. She would’ve had to wear that awful cone for four weeks straight! The Lick Sleeve not only saved my house from getting destroyed with her running into everything out of spite, she stayed a happy dog and could eat and drink without having to fight a cone pushing her bowls around.
Patti R.
I loved the sleeve because it gave me peace of mind. However, my dog would not tolerate it on his leg and had to return it. However, I believe it is a wonderful product and very helpful for most dogs that aren’t jerks
Carey B.
We have a 28lb Beagle. I initially ordered the Small size, but it was a bit too snug to pull over her paw and seemed to cause her some discomfort. I requested an exchange for the Medium, and the process was incredibly easy—the replacement arrived within a couple of days. It’s such a relief not having her wear the cone all day now. I do still put the cone on her at night, though, since the sleeve can sometimes slip off.
Patti R.
This is a great deterrent from licking after TPLO surgery. Unfortunately, my dog didn’t tolerate it on his leg, I had to return it . I did love it though, and it gave me peace of mind. My dog is just a jerk.
Christina K.
This is a wonderful alternative to the cone! I wish I knew about the Lick Sleeve years ago. Love that it’s reversible and washable. I really don’t know what we would’ve done without this! My dog didn’t mind it being on one bit!
Delwin K.
XL Fit him perfectly
Susan K.
It was a big relief letting him go without the cone. It didn’t seem to bother him at all!! Once we figured out the proper way to put it on, it was very easy !!
Bryan W.
Fits perfectly and appears very comfortable.
Bill B.
Order a small for our 28# Australian Labradoodle, but she has very long legs so she needed a medium. I called and customer service was amazing! I was overnighted a medium and sent a return label. The medium fit perfect, and Willow is so happy to not be wearing her cone of shame.
Deborah A.
Great product!!! Works well! Comfortable and easy to wash
Rogelio R.
Best invention ever! Our dog loves you all for this product!
Lisa S.
Lick sleeve is very comfortable for my dog as she recovers from her TPLO surgery. Gives me peace of mind keeping her incision clean and safe from her bothering it.
Debbie M.
I have a very obedient cattle dog.
She was taught to the command, leave it at a young age. She’s done a great job and certainly prefers this to a cone!
Joanne K.
our 10 year old very active goldendoodle had acl surgery, we put lick sleeve on immediately from the vet's office and he never touched his incision once, better yet, he never had to wear the cone!!!
love it! 100% recommended
Theresa S.
The lick sleeve was so much more comfortable dog than the Cone-Of-Shame! It fit comfortably and was surprisingly easy to get on. More importantly, the Lick Sleeve stayed on and offered the protection our boy needed while recovering from his PTLO surgery. I highly recommend the lick sleeve to anyone looking for an alternative to the e-collar!
john s.
Great service, great product.
Dorothy R.
The Lick Sleeve works great! My golden doodle had TPLO surgery and doesn't mind wearing it. It is so much better than wearing the cone.
pachia a.
Tplo surgery is a major time in you and the dogs life. We could write a book on the stuff we had to learn.
This lick sleeve gave us options for keeping the wound away from licking and not feeling bad about a cone of shame on top of everything else. Congratulations to this company for understanding that pet parent/owners want to use new ideas to help our pets recover when faced with a surgery.
Even though I bought my sleeve too big I still gave 5 stats. I just shortened the paw/foot. My lab is gigantic at 120 and I got XXL and should have got xl. Washes well too.
Kathleen
The idea is great but it slips off when my dog walks.
I should have ordered a medium.
Elizabeth C.
Our 12 yo golden doodle had a tumor removed 2years ago. We tried everything to keep her from continuing to lick the incision and chew on her leg but she had to have a cone on at all times we were not with her. So distressing for her and us. I came across the lick sleeve on line So I ordered it. It worked!!!! No more cone No constant licking and she is less stressed and not in pain. After 3-4 days I ordered a second sleeve so we will always have a replacement sleeve. Great product that solved our problem. Thanks so much
Sharon S.
I don’t know what I would have done without the lick sleeve. My dog freaked out totally wearing a cone. Lick sleeve covered with her pjs kept her mouth away from her staples for the 2 weeks necessary!
Mike A.
Much better than the cone of shame.
Susan C.
My golden had TPLO surgery last week and the lick sleeve has been amazing! It is easy to put in and take off and keeps his leg clean. He really doesn’t mind having it on at all. He even lifts his leg when I am putting it back on after a bathroom break. It also makes me more comfortable letting him be without his cone for periods of time when someone is with him. I recommend it highly!
John S.
Service was great and the lick Sleeve works absolutely perfectly.
Well made product and highly recommend

One issue: please place a video for use on Front legs ON your web page. I didn't purchase as soon as I should have, because there were No videos on web page on how to use on a front leg. Please add. I had to search on YouTube to find video.
Rachel P.
My mutt can move around without licking or biting at her stitches! Easy to put on and I’ll be using it for the acl surgery she needs on the other leg.
Sharon L.
Love the sleeve! My dachshund had ACL surgery and I hated putting that collar on her. She hated it too! The lick-sleeve worked perfectly. Would highly recommend.
Jeffery M.
The Licksleeve keeps our dog from licking the incision, which is what it is supposed to do.
Brianna K.
Awesome sleeve that actually fits and is comfortable for my pittie. Awesome customer service!
William M.
A little pricey, however, it sure beats wearing a cone!
Lisa S.
Fits well and washes up great!
Sharon
We ordered FOUR different surgery site protectors and this was the only one that worked! The other three were either too easy for our mastiff to get to the incision, slid down and choked her (full body suit) or she could weasel out of. I’m so thankful we were able to finally lose the cone!
Cynthia T.
Great product. This will take the place of the cones.
BILL K.
Fits well. Easy returns. Much better than the cone of shame.
Jillian B.
We love these for our orthopedic patients!
William P.
Functionally it's well designed. It stays on well, and in a way looks kind of cool. It prevents direct access to the TPLO incision, and it's reversible for if/when the other knee goes.
However, I am knocking off a star for three reasons:
1. None of my dog's vets would actually endorse it — most likely out of an abundance of caution. A dog that is overly interested in the incision will chew this thing off. Mine is not that dog, but if she found herself in the right position, should could just barely lick past the donut-cone-hybrid thing we got to improve her quality of life. So ultimately we got the lick sleeve as a fail safe so that the more comfortable collar could do 90% of the work, and the lick sleeve would prevent the risk coming from the other 10%. The lack of any non-Lick Sleeve representative being willing to endorse it left me feeling uneasy. But much of life is about striking a balance and so we stacked it with other preventative measures in order to provide better quality of life during initial recovery.
2. A product can be good and still not be safe for most people, and this preventative measure could lull the owner into a sense of false confidence. Doing TPLO recovery correctly is really serious. This is *not* as safe as a traditional e-collar. Not even close. But it can be, if used mindfully. In general though, few pet owners are as mindful as they should be, and I consider that a problem for which this preventative measure should be more up front. This thing *can* work, but only if you’re already doing pretty much everything else right.
3. At no point did I feel like this thing was worth almost the price. Yes, it's good, it's well made, and the material seems to be proper for the task. But it failed to ever feel like an actual good *value*. Something about holding about 75g of mystery fabric, and knowing it cost almost $100, just never settled into feeling good. If this were closer to the cost of other soft recovery aids — maybe $40-$60 max, I would have eventually stopping thinking about how much it cost.
Would I recommend it? Sure, for the right dog and the right owner, and with the caveat that it should be part of an ecosystem of prevention that aims to be comprehensive without sacrificing as much quality of life, but not as a sole solution to ever dog and every owner.
Josie K.
The Lick sleeve worked like a charm. Our dog hated the cone and our surgeon recommended the sleeve. It fits perfectly, it doesn’t bother her and it’s so easy to put on and off. Definitely a 10 out of 10.
David F.
Perfect protection for Cocoa's left hind leg following a MAST Cell tumor removal. She has great range of motion and isn't concerned about the sleeve. Our vet recommended and assisted with fitting and application. WAY better than a cone! Great product!
