We tried some body suits after my big girl had her TPLO done, and she hated them, her legs would get stuck in the fabric, so we ordered a lick sleeve and it’s SO MUCH BETTER! As a vet tech I will be recommending these to any one needing leg lick protection!
Julie O.
Fantastic! Start to finish.
Excellent customer service, directions, videos, and functionality and quality! Easy to use, stays put and comfortable for my girl.
Kept the wound clean & covered while keeping her comfortable! It also was a great assist in keeping our other dogs away and from licking allowing for her wound to heal clean and quickly. Thank you Lick Sleeve!
Victoria P.
We used this to give our dog a break from her cone after TPLO surgery. Just watched to make sure she didn't lick the sleeve itself. Worked perfectly and was soft and lightweight!!
Andrea G.
This is the second ACL surgery we have used this sleeve and it is SUPERIOR to all the other options out there! It stays on the whole time, it’s comfortable for our pet, and overall is a great product!
Amy R.
As a veterinarian, I know how well these suits work. I've not yet used this one, but I'm looking forward to it.
Katherine S.
Shipping was so fast. We ordered it on Wednesday after we found out she would have surgery on Thursday. We picked her up on Friday and had it with us at pick up. The PT Assistant was very happy to see we had it and helped us put it on her for the first time. She has completely left the incision alone and acts like the sleeve isn't even there. I give it a 10/10!
Debra L.
The Lick Sleeve is an absolute blessing!
I drove 900 miles to get the TPO surgery for my dog. I couldn’t imagine driving 900 miles back home with a cone on his head so I ordered the Lick Sleeve. Arrived just two days after surgery.
I was able to drive home without a single worry of him, licking his leg. My dog was also extremely comfortable. At times, it seems like he enjoys having it on almost like a comfort. I am so grateful for this product.
Jeneen J.
Well made....fabric is soft and snuggly
Kim Y.
My Flat Coated Retriever HATED the cone and ended up getting a hotspot.. The Lick Sleeve saved the day.
Steve M.
Fantastic produce and alternative to the standard “cone.” The quality and overall service has been A+!

Our 3-year-old Staffy just had back-to-back TPLO surgeries and the lick sleeve was a lifesaver. The lick sleeve is easy to use and easy to clean. Our dog seemed very comfortable in it the entire time that she wore it (which was day and night). I think it's important to point out that the lick sleeve is not a complete replacement for an e-collar. A dog can still easily get to a wound through the fabric--so they need to be monitored if that's the only thing they're wearing while a wound is still in its healing phase. I consider the lick sleeve a great addition to a surgery recovery protocol. It helps keep the surgical site clean and dry and can also help keep a dog's mind off of the area (i.e. out of sight out of mind). Highly recommend!

We knew our pup didn’t relax at all with the cone of shame after she got spayed so we knew we needed an alternative. Rubee Mae had a TPLO procedure to repair a torn ACL. The Lick Sleeve has been wonderful to keep her incision protected from her & her chocolate lab sister from licking it. This allows her to rest & heal…comfortably!
Thankful for it after surgery & so nice we can use it for her other leg surgery too. It’s Reversible!
Thank you from Rubee Mae & Mom & Dad too!

Best way to care for leg injuries on your dog
Karen M.
I hoped to use to cover a hip area but it doesn’t cover the area so I’m not able to use it.
Paula K.
I had really hoped that the sleeve would work, but my dog was able to chew through the fabric in pull the staples out and cause her leg to get infected so the sleeve did not work like I thought it would. She has to wear her cone of shame until she gets her stitches out, so I was pretty disappointed in the sleeve.
Alice S.
It has really been a great buy. It definitely took the worry out of him licking
Courtney C.
This is the second time we have had to use the Lick Sleeve. It’s big enough for our girl, easy to use and easy to clean. I would definitely recommend the Lick Sleeve.
Rachel F.
The unit itself is well made. Unfortunately, the wound in my retrievers hind leg was about 3/4 of the way up. Since there's a gap at the top where it wraps (and inevitably moves as the dog lies down), her wound was exposed. We waited a week after sutures to try the lick sleeve. We watched her all day to make sure she wasn't tempted. Sadly, I went to put clothes in the washer and she had five minutes alone. Ripped out her stitches and sent us back to the emergency vet. Wound up costing us a LOT of money, an extra week (for three total) in the cone, and a sore and worse off puppy.
If your dog's wound it low on the leg...maybe worth a try? My dog HATES the cone, so we were hopeful. Sadly, our one day of use resulted in even more cone time.

Gave My Blue Heeler His Freedom Back!
After my dog’s surgery, we tried just about everything to keep him from bothering his stitches—cones, full-body suits, you name it. He absolutely hated the cone and looked miserable in the full-body post-surgery suits, which were too restrictive for his high-energy personality. That’s when we found the lick sleeve, and it was a total game-changer.
The lick sleeve gave him back his freedom and happiness during recovery. It covered his wound well, protecting it from dirt and abrasion while making it harder for him to lick or bite at the stitches. It was such a relief to see him able to walk around the house and go on short walks without being constantly uncomfortable or frustrated.
He was in between sizes, so we went with the large. It does stretch a bit with wear, so I’d recommend sizing down if you're in between sizes like we were. One thing to note—my dog is a bit of an escape artist, so I didn’t trust leaving it on him overnight, but for daytime use it was absolutely perfect.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a more comfortable, dog-friendly alternative to the cone!
Jaci W.
Perfect fit - My dog loves it.
Amy G.
Works great! Easy to use
Paula K.
Unfortunately, She was able to pull staples out on her leg through the Sleeve. So I have to keep the cone on her I was really hoping this was gonna help so she wouldn’t have to deal with that cone.
SHERRY S.
Lick Sleeve is great!! It has made my dog’s TPLO surgery so much easier without dealing with that clumsy cone! Highly recommend it!

Happy to support a small business, especially one that's filling a need for our pups. Their customer service is excellent, to cut on shipping costs they let me pick up the sleeve from their distribution warehouse since I happen to live in the same city. However this sleeve didn't quite suit what we needed for our pup. She has stitches on her upper thigh near her butt. The sleeve covers the stitches while she's standing but gets exposed once she lays down so we had to look for a different solution. Still keeping it in case we need it in the future as it's a great, well made product.
MICHELLE R.
Great customer service and great product. I ordered a small which turned out to be too small and it was only a few days until my dogs tplo surgery. I immediately called customer service and since my dog was between sizes she sent me two different ones! I wish i had gotten her name. She also sent me a return label and box to return the large and the small since the medium was perfect. I cannot express enough how that calmed my nerves and was the best customer service. I would definitely buy from this company again and will tell everyone I know that needs a product like this about my experience and the quality of their product.
One other note, the leg cover actually stays on my dog. I have bought others that would not so this product is by far superior.
Thanks
Michelle (and Darby)

Easy to take on and off for potty breaks. Comfortable enough that it doesn’t bother my dog at all. Plus everyone that sees pictures thinks he’s wearing cute little sweatpants!
Marianne R.
Worked great after TPLO surgery.
Peggy K.
Our greyhound injured his carpal pad, and this kept him licking it until it healed. It works beautifully! Because of his long legs, and the location of his injury, we did add a few inches to the length. We were so impressed, we ordered a second.
Angela C.
I love the concept and it's better than wearing a cone. However, it fell off after the first day. It's nearly impossible to unlatch the buckle in order to shorten the strap. I've hurt my fingers several times doing it. If they can make this easier, I would have given it a higher rating.
Christina R.
My dog had PTLO surgery. At first my dog wasn't liking the sleeve. I had never put any clothing on him, but He adjusted to it and able to walk in it. Still recovering. The material is soft. He's able to poop and urinate without having to remove any part of the sleeve. The best part he's not licking his stitches! I love it because he doesn't have to wear a cone or pillow around his neck. Thank you Lick Sleeve!
Brian T.
We were really looking forward to getting this. Our dog had knee surgery, everything we have tried he can get his leg out of it. It's fits great, he can still figure out how to get it off, He's to smart for his own good. The one complaint we have is for buckle, first time we went to lock the strap ajustment, the locking tab broke! I was able to get it secured, but not happy for what it cost for it to have broken.
Greg G.
Our 8-year old female Golden Retriever mix recently had surgery for a torn ACL. The vet put her in a full body suit to prevent licking, and our dog was miserable in it, including poor mobility and difficulty with defecation. We got the lick sleeve, and now only the subject leg is covered (other than where it wraps around her lower torso.) Her mobility is very good, she is not licking, and restroom events are completely unobstructed. Thank you!
Karen H.
My dog is a rescue from an abusive situation and although he is doing much better with all the love and support he's gotten, certain things still do trigger him. Recently he had to undergo surgery on his leg and would not be able to handle an ecollar for the duration of his healing, so I went on a search to find a good solution to help him. I came upon your website and decided to give it a try and it has been fantastic! He wore it to his recent checkup and even his vet thought it was a great idea! Thank you for making such a soft and comfortable sleeve to aid our furbabies in their recovery!
Kathy H.
The lick sleeve was very helpful during my dogs surgery. He struggles with the cone on and we took it off and used the sleeve instead. He settled right down with the sleeve on to rest after surgery.
Megan T.
It has been a life-saver during her first couple of weeks of TPLO recovery. The instructions did say that it would loosen over time, which is correct. I do wish I had gone down a size (even though I followed the sizing instructions!) because my dog has a skinny waist and I am unable to tighten the strap any further.
Joanne M.
The idea and material is great! I was worried the fabric would rub against the stitches but the material is smooth so nothing to catch on the stitches.
I would have given this product 5 stars except it didn't work for my dog. My dog is a Staffordshire Terrier and the stiches were behind her left leg and up very high so it didn't quite cover it.
Berry F.
Fits great, protects incision.
Amy S.
It didn’t stay on my dog
A
Thank you SO MUCH for creating the Lick Sleeve! One of our dogs just got his second TPLO and hasn't needed a cone because Lick Sleeve works as intended.
Morgan S.
This has been amazing as our dog recovers from his TPLO. He has not had to wear a cone at all!
Marianne R.
Dog had TPLO surgery and can home with a huge cone. She needed to be confined to a crate. The surgeon recommended lick sleeve and it has been great. Nice material and she doesn’t seem to mind it. Hasn’t needed the cone since the first night.
Courtney D.
Lifesaver post op for our pup. No way on the Elizabethan collar. He is a pittie mix and I don’t know how, but it did do a little chaffing in his inner thigh. Weird cause the material is so soft. But I’d still recommend for sleeping and when pup is alone in his crate.
Marsha L.
no cone of shame anymore!!! thank you for a great product!
Jessica B.
Love the Lick Sleeve! My dog just had surgery for a torn ACL and this has been a life saver. She can relax without the cone. I know she’s very grateful for her Lick Sleeve. Highly HIGHLY recommend. Only issue is that it does run big so I wish I had sized down despite the weight specifications.
Paula K.
My dog is in recovery 10 days now but now she is licking the itchy spot on her upper thigh, which is my only issue right now. Otherwise, she is adapting to Wearing it pretty well.
Jerry T.
Comes under the “godsend” category. My dog had a lick granuloma (a patch of skin he had licked off hide and hair) and it was really serious and vet recommended euthanasia….needless to say I wasn’t having any of that I am treating his wound with daily dressing changes and the licksleeve protects it from damage, dirt, licking, and any friction. It is on the mend and so is he! No conehead necessary either. Don’t know where we’d be without it.
Bryan H.
I have two dogs and when the other dog is wearing a cone, they want to attack. That makes for a tense household, lots of separation and anxiety. The Licksleeve changed all that. It allowed the two dogs to interact as they normally would (except for supervised play). Also the dog wearing the sleeve did not feel isolated or separated like she would have with a cone. Thank you for an alternative solution.
Gina C.
The lick sleeve made our way more comfortable after surgery. He hated the cone, it made sleeping in a crate after surgery very difficult. This sleeve was great. Pretty easy to put on. Our dog is 100 pound, lab. We ordered the X-Large and it fit his belly great. We did have to cut the length of the leg because he is a short lab, but it was very easy.

Axel had Luxating Patella surgery. He is an active, 14 month old yorkie and I knew I would need every precaution to keep him away from the surgery site. The surgeon originally gave me an extra small lick sleeve although it was never put on after surgery. I tried putting it on but it was so snug and the strap was very tight and uncomfortable around his body (fully extended strap). I knew I needed the small size. (I went online to see many pictures of dogs wearing theirs and noticed they were not skin tight around their legs) I ordered directly from the Lick Sleeve company and received the small size in two days. The sleeve went on easily but now the body strap is just a tad too big when tightened all the way. The sleeve works great but I must keep my eye on him to make sure the body strap does not slip off his back end. All of this is no fault of the sleeve, but just the size of my puppy. This sleeve is an excellent idea and a great way to protect a surgery site. I still give it 5 stars.
Adrienne Y.
The sleeve is working great!
Thomas W.
With daily washing it is not retaining size. I have a dutch Shepard very high drive dog. So daily washing is a necessity. Your thoughts on materials should be reexamined. My only contact with your shipping department was lackluster. I ordered on a Friday and didn't see the product until Wednesday. This is a good idea you need better materials and a better delivery system. With this being said I know this will not show up on your website.. I also hope that you will make things right by me when I call. Thank you
Debi S.
Great alternative to a cone.
Georgia B.
This will be my Gwen's second surgery. We had GREAT success with her first surgery and hope to have the same results. She was very comfortable with the Sleeve.
Keith D.
The Lick Sleeve works great. So much better than having to wear the cone for 2,weeks.
Julie M.
I ordered the right size according to measurements and it's great except the leg needs to be longer! Her hot spot that she has licked is just reachable at the bottom of the sleeve. It would serve the purpose if it was a tad bit longer. I have had to adjust the bandage and tape. Otherwise the concept and the product itself is awesome.
Laura W.
So thankful for this lick Sleeve!
We had a Comfy Cone for our dog after surgery and she was not a fan at all- seemed so cruel to put an uncomfortable cone on a dog that is already suffering post surgery.
So happy that we found the Lick Sleeve that protects her incision and she is perfectly happy to wear. I even have a sense that she enjoys wearing the Lick Sleeve as her newly shaved leg and hip is probably a bit chilly without any fur.
Shabnam A.
My Husky recently had CCL surgery, and our vet recommended the Lick Sleeve to help with her recovery. We received it within two days of placing the order.
The sleeve itself is a well-made product. The material is soft and comfortable, and my pup (a 50 lb Siberian Husky) didn’t mind wearing it—which is saying a lot. I like that it’s reversible, so it can be used on either back leg, which adds some flexibility (in case she needs surgery on the other leg in the future).
That said, I had a hard time with sizing. The medium was tight on my dog, but the large was way too big. I really wish there was an in-between size option.
My biggest frustration is the cost. For what it is, this sleeve is quite expensive, and you have to pay extra for shipping, which adds to the overall price. It’s a solid product, but the price point feels a bit high.

So much better than the cone!!!
T P.
My dog was so happy to get a break from the cone, it was so worth it. I only wish more Vet's would let us know this option is available.
Jacqueline B.
Lick Sleeve fits snugly amd securely without annoying our dog. No e-collar! If not wrapped carefully, it has caused irritation on our dog's belly.
Terry T.
Tried several other post surgery suits on Amazon. None of them worked perfectly. We needed a right and a left sleeve for our GSPs back legs. The lick sleeves have been perfect. Zero issues. Worth every penny.
Kristen O.
This is excellent ! So much better than a cone.
Our Golden, Ben, hates the cone.
Thanks for awesome product!
patricia j.
Just what we needed to ensure our pup didn't lick her incision after TPLO surgery. I was able to keep her out of the cone while we were home.
Linda W.
I've had a love/hate relationship with the LickSleeve. It looks rather uncomfortable for my intact male lab, but he is tolerating it pretty well. He does lick the leg sometimes and gets the sleeve wet. I've washed it a couple of times and it air-dries fairly fast (but I used a hair dryer so he wouldn't have a long licking time while it dried).
The good: it is loose so not constricting for the dog. It has slipped off a couple of times, but usually stays on pretty well. Washable. The one the vet gave us was a little too big so I sewed a pleat in the fabric to make the band shorter.
The bad: It's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. We thought we'd get an extra one to use while washing the first one, but no way I'm paying $85 for a small piece of fabric. Other brands charge half this price for a similar product.
Anne K.
Sehr gut , gute Qualität-perfekt, da man auch schön Kühlakkus „drin verschwenden „ lassen kann!! % zu empfehlen!
Renee A.
I was worried it would irritate the incision, not at all. We’re loving not having to keep the hard cone on.
Barbara H.
We started using the LickSleeve during the daytime on week two post surgery. It was such a great break for our pup from the cone.
Anthony
Fits well. Innovative. But my dog chew threw it immediately. The fabric is not tough enough. Disappointing purchase overall given tbe pricepoint
lavonne k.
I've had experience with the "cone of shame " and it did not work with my dog. I knew when she had to have surgery on her back knee I needed a different solution. The Licksleeve is fantastic. The material is excellent, so soft and yet durable. Applying it is easy and it stays in place. Definitely a 5 star product.

I used Lick Sleeve measurement guidelines. And found the sleeve fell off very quickly and it was very loose. It was a nice soft material but way more expensive for something not useable.
Kris O.
Very pleased with this sleeve! Comfortable…no more cone. Ben is much appreciative of this.
Thank you for a good product

I knew i didn’t want my pup to have to wear a cone after her ACL repair. So happy with my purchase of the lick sleeve. 10/10 recommend it!
Julie D.
Lick sleeve fit perfect and worked great! Excellent customer service experience when contacted them for help with needing a replacement.
Marlene C.
So much better than the cone! Easy to use. Washable. My dog had no issues with it.
Todd L.
Effectively kept my dog from licking her leg after surgery.
Lora Z.
Shyla had TPLO surgery, and was dreading the cone, thank God for lick sleeve, it does a great job, and shyla never bothered it. It was very easy to but on, and washes up nicely.
Monica O.
Great product and the best customer service!
Jane R.
Our dog still manages to get under it occasionally to lick his sutures but for the most part it works really well, especially as he has gotten used to it.
Tim J.
The Lick Sleeve works great. She no longer has to wear the cone after ACL surgery. Highly recommended.
Michael K.
My Houdini dog keeps getting out of it! I think it's the slope of her butt, it keeps sliding down and getting loose, then she just pulls it off. Any suggestions?
William c.
Still waiting to try it out, but staff at booth was great and looks like a great product
JENNIFER M.
A life saver for those of us on our FIFTH surgery related to CCL ruptures. Our Licksleeve has made a very uncomfortable time a lot more bearable.
Michelle S.
This sleeve worked out perfectly for my very sensitive German shepherd . He was able to move around comfortably and had no issues. It definitely helped prevent him from licking his incision. It was worth the money.
MARC C.
my dog gets it off every time
Renee Lynn S.
When placed on the right leg, it does not wrap correctly or buckle, and it irritates the bottom of our boy. Never heard back from Customer Service.
Jeneane T.
This is a godsend! It is very soft and stretchy, and very easy to get on and off, but only when she's standing. I did cut the bottom a little bit because she had some post op swelling to her ankle. I've washed it twice so far, just by hand, then rung it out in a towel, hung to dry and dried very quick. It does not lose it's shape at all and very easy to adjust. The only thing I don't like is that I have to twist the buckle after I wrap it around her waist, in order to snap it together. I'm guessing this is because it is reversible and can be worn on either left or right. I just wish it wasn't so costly. I also did not know the surgical veterinarian sells these, so you might want to check into that. I don't know what it would've cost, but it's another option. Anyhow, no cone needed at all so far!
Cristi R.
Love this item! Kept my pup's TPLO surgical incision safe from her licking without having to wear a cone. It's washable and dries quickly.
Jane R.
The Lick Sleeve is soft and gentle on his sutures and easy to wash. Our dog doesn't mind it at all and leaves it and his sutures alone.
Irelle D.
Great product. Replaces need for Elizabethan or Donut collar.
Linda B.
Absolutely wonderful on my 112 llb black russian terrier acl repair. Doesn't slip or need readjustment. Ordered the
XL when she fell between XL and XXL
Ronald B.
Its in my house in France, lets ser how future will go
For now
Anne O.
Our dog was so happy to give up the ‘cone’ for the lick sleeve.
Lenora
I hated to see my dog Gracie in that e-collar. This is so much better. I let the vet know I got the lick sleeve. He suggested that I use both the sleeve and the e-collar, but I found I didn't have to do so. She's not able to get to the site due to the lick sleeve, and it doesn't seem to bother her--additionally she's able to go potty without soiling the sleeve. It's been 2 1/2 days since I placed it on her, I'm very happy with the product so far.
Marnie W.
Day 1, Hicks is so comfortable in her Lick Sleeve. This is TPLO #2 and finding the Lick Sleeve has been a game changer. We are in Canada and overnight delivery was a breeze. Highly recommended for doggies going through this procedure and their doggie caregivers!
Joeb W.
So far so good.
My little guy has been ok wearing it and it's alot easier and friendlier than the cone of shame.
Laurina
No cone need after surgery - easy on easy off
Gary B.
The sleeve is working very well. The cone never worked well for our dog and she ended up ingesting her dressings. We have no such concerns with the Lick Sleeve.
