Auggie had a localized sarcoma removed from his right hind leg. The sleeve worked well and prevented having to use the dreaded 'cone of shame'. The (large sized ) sleeve fits snuggly and easily goes around of dog's mid-section. It prevents licking, running into doorways, furniture, and bruising of his humans’ legs from the cone.
Eric & Geraldine M.
It has been great to have and use as a product for protecting the knee and leg from surgery.our Jack Russle mix is long enough to get around the cone to lick the incision. This helps us at night (all the time) when we are all asleep,! And cannot not monitor him , to keep from licking the incision, and it provides him added support until he heals from ACL surgery on his right leg and knee.
Amanda E.
So much more comfortable than the cone of shame!
Janice S.
The lick sleeve worked great! The only drawback for us is our dogs surgery stitches are right on the inside of the hip, so the tension on the strap fabric somewhat abraded the incision area. So, we alternated with the cone, so as not to bother the incision too much.
Sure was much better than using the cone all the time for sure!!!
Really appreciated it!
Cheryl R.
Great product. Stays put easily and very soft material. My dog after surgery was very comfortable in it. I was so glad we decided to get this one!
Donna C.
Once we got the approval from the surgeon to use the Lick Sleeve, our dog’s ACL recovery took off! The hard cone was definitely creating anxiety issues with our labradoodle after surgery. The Lick Sleeve eliminated that and allowed her to heal. It’s so lightweight that she wears it comfortably, and it offers protection from her interfering with the incision. I highly recommend this product!
DAVE M.
I already did this.
Ashley S.
This product is great for TPLO recovery on our pup. We did not have to use a cone once. He seems very comfortable with it on. We did have to cut the length and roll it up some, but he has short legs and a broad body. For reference, we ordered size XL, he is a pit/boxer mix, and weighs 92 lbs and is shaped like a rectangle :).
Nancy H.
I just put it on today after surgery. Works great!
Lisa R.
Ive bought 3 but only need to keep 2 of them. They are absolutely the best option to keep her from licking her wounds.
Great product
Karen M.
The lick sleeve has eliminated the need for a cone! What a great product! Our dog had TPLO surgery on his left knee yesterday and has made no effort to bother the sleeve. He is a large Chow Chow and it is a complex surgery. We are so pleased that the sleeve has given him freedom from the cone and comfortable protection while he recovers.
Scott H.
Very good product. Better than the one I bought on Amazon. The only thing I would suggest is replacing the hard plastic buckle with a flat Velcro adjustable strap so it is more comfortable for the dog.
Jeffrey C.
Used it for 6 days and it really seemed to be helping! BUT it slides off. And so I spent $100 + on this to use for 6 days and it comes off somewhere outside and cannot find it. I found another similar sleeve online that has a “tether” that attaches to the collar so the sleeve will not slide off. It will arrive tomorrow so the verdict is out til actual use lick sleeve could be improved by doing something to keep it from sliding
Dawn L.
This is my chocolate labs 2nd ACL surgery and we struggled to find something that would keep our lab from licking her incision. She struggled with the cone and wrapping the incision never worked so we tried the link sleeve for her 2nd surgery and its been amazing. It fits well and is easy to put on her and it doesn't chaf her or leave any sores. Wonderful product! Wish I would have had it for the first surgery.
Daniel S.
Our border collie managed to cut her leg on the knee where its hard to heal. The lick sleeve kept her wound clean and dry where she could not lick her staples out.
Joel D.
Great product , never needed the cone of shame.
Megan H.
I didn't read the part about leaving a cone on when you're out of the house even with the lick sleeve, so it didn't even last a single day before being destroyed and unusable. But that's my bad.
Nora K.
It is well made but way too expensive
Pamela G.
This is the absolute greatest, bar none. This sleeve has been a godsend. Gracie's recovery has been so much easier with it. Anyone on the fence about this - get one ASAP. You will not regret it. It will also help you, as a pup parent, to have some peace knowing there won't be a huge, no stitches left wound if you turn away for 0.6 seconds.
There are less expensive options out there. Do not be fooled. Buy this, it is the real deal and worth every penny!
Steven R.
Before finding your product we tried everything. Very light weight, fits well and worked pretty darn good. You have to find that right spot of being very snug but not too tight. Definitely recommend.
JENNIFER S.
GAME CHANGING!! My sweet girl had to have her 2nd leg surgery and I was dreading it so much - she was so miserable last time because she hated that damned Cone of Shame so much! She kept getting out of it so I bought 2 softer cones and a donut - she got out of everything and hated all of them. I would have to stay awake at night to make sure she wouldn’t lick her sutures - we were all miserable.
I had heard and read about the Lick Sleeve and when I asked my vet about it for this surgery she said she loved them. She is 3 days post surgery now and the sleeve has been a miracle for us - it’s light and comfortable, she doesn’t even notice that it’s on. Better yet, she has not gone near the sutures.
I wish I had known about this last time and for her spay surgery. There is no reason why any dog should be having to wear any cone - they are inhumane and should be banned.
I feel like all vets should be offering this to dog owners for any kind of surgery - the cost is well worth it! I feel like it’s a high price for what it actually is but when your pup is in pain, this sleeve takes so much of the anxiety and discomfort away. If there are anymore surgeries, I will definitely be buying another!!!
Lisa E.
What a lifesaver! Our dog hates the cone of shame and then add the embarrassment of an entire shaved hind leg and pain from surgery. She was pretty down. Once we got the lick sleeve on her and the cone off she just perked right up. She had some of her dignity back! Thank you, Lick Sleeve!!! You saved the day.
Carol G.
I wish I had bought your product 6 weeks ago, when I could tell the cone or any "outfit" I came up with would not work. My dog would NOT leave the incision alone and continued opening the site. Two months since surgery and I am finally getting it to totally heal. I would recommend this sleeve to anyone with a leg injury or surgery. I shared your product with my vet and she was very interested!
Thayer Z.
Generally a great product
Needs a bit more engineering to keep it in place
Sheona K.
We were right in between the L and XL - our vet advised to order XL as loose around her staples was preferable to tight. It is very long. We have been cuffing the bottom, but it does unroll and engulf her foot which causes slipping. Still a better solution than traditional cones.
Debra D.
The lick sleeve is a great alternative to a cone to prevent licking after surgery. It fits well, is easy to use, and is reversible for right and left legs. It is well worth the money for my peace of mind and my dog's comfort.
Michael S.
Works great. However, our Ruby (female) would not pee with the sleeve on. No problem, just remove it temporarily and replace after she does her business.
Tania E.
Thank you! Finally I got to sleep at night. Absolute sanity and life saver!!
Laura C P.
My dog is 78 pounds. I ordered the large as recommended, however was concerned it would be too tight after the surgery due to swelling. I then ordered the XL which is what we used. It is very big for her and kept sliding off her back end. I used safety pins to help secure. Unfortunately, last night it slipped off her backend and I woke to her licking the incision. I suggest that you create a size in between the L and XL.
Kevin k.
It's a great way to keep our dog out of the cone while he recovers but he can slip out of it pretty quickly so we can only use it when he's supervised. Definitely not a cone replacement.
Sue C.
Great to use while we supervise - so she gets a break from the e-collar
Donna C.
Nice sleeve but it didn't work for my dog. I thought it was waterproof but she licked so much it was still very wet against her wound. Plus she was still able to get out of it.
Lorraine R.
The sleeve didn’t cover the area of the leg we thought it would. The pictures made it look as though it provided more coverage than what it actually did.

Post-Op Recovery Made Easy
We’ve been using LickSleeves for years now after ACL and TPLO surgeries, and they’ve been a total game changer. They’re soft, comfortable for your pet, and—best of all—keep them away from their stitches so healing is safer and smoother.
Now that they come in smaller sizes, even our tiniest patients can recover without the dreaded cone of shame! ✨
Jason L.
Our dog keeps escaping the lick sleeve. Despite being measured by our vet and putting it on after surgery, our dog got it off barely a few hours later. After watching the video and replacing it on her leg, she escaped again several hours later. We’ve tried four more days and not once has it stayed on our dog for more than a few hours. For $100+ after shipping and taxes, we were expecting it to at least stay on overnight!
Shari M.
I really like the freedom it offers but tends to roll up and put pressure on on my labs penis and lower abdomen. I have tried making other and looser but still does it . If looser it slides off eventually .
If you had a new design to fix this problem I would think it amazing .
John B.
Hij heeft niet meer aan zijn wond gezeten nadat we de Lick Sleeve bij hem aangedaan hadden, TOP
Lisa G.
The lick sleeve works just as advertised. Once you figure out how to get it on properly. I just watch a video on it to see exactly how to put it on correctly. I m glad I bought this. I do not leave him alone with it on, as the Vet said he could possibly get it off (my dog never tried) or they can lick through it. He didn’t lick it either. Just a heads up if you buy this. I think it was expensive, but compared to having to restitch him or having the cone on 24/7, this was worth the money
Nicole H.
It has made recovery easier!
Dan D.
It was killing me to watch the dog "freeze" with the e-cone on. Not to mention not being able to drink water... Tried a sleeve from Amazon and what was received was not what was described or even close to the picture. The Lick Sleeve has worked perfectly (except for one time when I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the sleeve off kilter - dogs will be dogs!). It allows the dog mobility and to drink at free will. Easy to put on and take off. 99.9% of the time, the dog doesn't try to lick his wound, and it keeps it clean while taking him outside. Highly recommend - well worth it.
Rosa S.
Excelente protección y facilidad de ajuste Las recomiendo 100%
Liz E.
Much better than a cone!
Joel D.
Great product. Beats the cone of shame
Terecia D.
I tried it on my mastiff Molly and it fit perfectly. It will help her when she has her ACL surgery at the end of September. This way we can let her go cone free and not be a bulldozer with the cone in the house.
Courtney S.
I love these things! Every ortho case we see gets sent home with this sleeve and owners are amazed by them! Such an amazing idea that works so well!
Lawrence M.
The sleeve has been great for our dog's recovery, mobility has been Good. The texture is very soft and breathable.
Elisabeth B.
It’s amazing how well Licksleeve works. When my dog has it on, she acts like her leg doesn’t exist. She leaves her leg alone.
Richard G.
Leg surgery and wearing a cone for three weeks. Paisley needed something great after taking cone off. Lick Sleeve customer service was great, they shipped out another size because my Large was loose. After getting the medium which was tight I stuck with the Large. I highly recommend Lick Sleeve.
Michele S.
My weimaraner had surgery on her leg and this was perfect. It covered but not too tight to draw attention to the wound. She did not even try to mess with it. Highly recommend!!
Treasure S.
Wonderful for knee surgery. Works great for keeping dog from licking surgery site. That and some grippy socks and dog gets around well and leg protected from licking, dirt and grime.
Jose S.
We were a bit skeptical about how LickSleeve would work for our Lab Mira, who chews off anything within reach.
LickSleeve is AMAZING. We were able to remove the cone of shame, and she is confortable. She has not tried to chew it off nor take it off, nor anything. Her wound is clean and dry and she is healing nicely.
I also loved access to the PetPath app which has been very useful and informative.
I recommend LickSleeve to everyone.
Pav K.
Our first dog had a TPLO and was able to get around the e-collar, which resulted in a wound infection and a very prolonged recovery. When our current dog needed the same surgery I was panicked! Ordered the lick sleeve and it was wonderful! We still used the e-collar at night (along with the sleeve) but she was able to spend a lot of time without it during the day because the sleeve worked so well. She is now 3 weeks out from surgery and healing well and we are so grateful to have found this product! I
Joan G.
Katie’s surgeon recommended lick sleeve, so when right to your website. She has no complaints. I tell everyone about you. Try doing Instagram. I see Farmers Dog which I feed Katie Bugs there all the time. Good luck!!! Hope your business grows. Stay honest and fair and won’t have big problems. Thanks for a great product. You may want to reach out to vet hospitals & they work with letting patients know about the sleeve instead of the cone.
Kathy L.
The lick sleeve is so easy to use and put on. It’s comfortable and soft. Our dog didn’t have any issues with it whatsoever. Stays put and can be worn for our male dog to use while doing his business outside.
Dana W.
Great product and company to work with. I had a last minute change with the address it was being shipped to and they called FedEx and took care of it for me. Excellent customer service.
Katie L.
Our six year old shepherd mix had TPLO surgery and this sleeve was the only thing she tolerated to protect her incision. So glad we purchased!
Amy D.
My mastiff had to have a mast cell tumor removed off of his thigh. The incision was 6 inches long. He is notoriously difficult to keep a cone on so I purchased a licksleeve. It has worked great at keeping him away from the wound as well as creating a barrier from dirty and debris.
Norma T.
Little pricey that's my only complaint..
Robin G.
Our dog had ACL surgery ... the sleeve has been so helpful in her healing / recovery. She doesn't fuss with her staples at all when she has her sleeve on. She hated the cone.
Rhonda G.
Great product. Our dog, so far, has not had to wear the cone after TPLO surgery by Dr. Ricker in Tulsa. Using the sleeve as a sling is really a great idea for the one step we have to use to go outside. Would highly recommend after TPLO surgery.
Julie B.
Commandé pour remplacer la colerette. Colis livrer rapidement. Très satisfaite de mon achat
Marge M.
Dog was able to wiggle out of it in 2 days
She did great with it until we had to leave her for 2 hours
Michael L.
Worked like a charm. Very use to put and well tolerated by a Husky!
Faith J.
It stays on really well, is breathable and comfortable.
Jill L.
The XS is working great on my maltese that just had knee surgery/torn ACL. She doesn't have to wear a cone! The surgeon put her LickSleeve on in the office when we picked her up after surgery. It looks comfortable and she is not bothered by it at all.
Maureen M.
My dog is getting TPLO surgery today, so I can only review the fit. She is a lean 65-62 pound english lab and her waist was in the middle range of large. I measured her leg from her backbone to the bottom of her hock before the bend of her foot, which was also in the middle of the large range. The fit is perfect. The sleeve just skims her leg, not too loose or too tight. The fabric is very smooth and glides on easily. The construction is sturdy and the design seems well thought out.
After spending so much on surgery I'm glad I spent a little extra on a sleeve that will protect her incision and she can wear comfortably.
Janice M.
Working perfect!

I have a 117 lb GSD who has a broken elbow on his left front leg. It was repaired surgically with several screws and plates. The vet re the Lick Sleeve to cover the incision and recommended I I get another one so they could be washed and changed daily because of fluid drainage. I have used these two XL Lick Sleeves for 4 weeks and even though I have used them on his front leg they work fantastically well!! I would highly recommend this product for any post operative situation. I used it on the front leg at the vet suggestion, but it is designed for rear leg use!! As far as I can see it works equaly well for both front and rear leg situations!! As I said I cannot recommend this product enough, it works well and is extremely well made and great quality!!
Steve S.
Irene N.
She looks unhappy due to her surgery but this lick sleeve has been a life saver. No bulky cones. She’s comfortable and we are thrilled because it’s secure and stays in place.
Evi G.
Louie just had TPLO surgery 13 days ago on his right rear leg. We were introduced to the sleeve by his surgeon. He wears the Lick Sleeve 24/7, we ordered a second one. I love the fabric, he never smells or attempts to lick his area and the best part is he does not need to wear his cone.
Thank you Lick Sleeve Folks, I have been recommending this to all my pet friends that may need it.
Ashley M.
Perfect fit. Easy to use and does the job.
Cynthia L.
Your product was an amazing alternative to the cone. It helped my dog heal from a leg issue. The Lick Sleeve worked as advertised! The hardest thing I had was that there were no clear instructions (or videos) on how to use on front legs - I had to experiment on how to get it on.
Marge M.
Dog was able to get it off when we weren’t home
Elizabeth M.
Great fit for a small dog, a 14-pound poochon. Size was XS.
She had a generic variety previously that didn't fit well, and she removed it immediately.
Cristina B.
It’s a great soft material, but our girl ate the buckle in about 20 minutes.
Karen J.
Worked out great. Stayed secure and our dog didn’t mess with it.
Terra H.
So much more comfortable for our pup than a cone!
We were impressed with the quality of the product and how well it fit our terrier. A couple things to note however:
- We left her cone on for the first couple days after her surgery to make sure she wasn't overly attempting to lick or bite at the incision. We then felt like it was safe to move to the Lick Sleeve.
- The fabric does loosen after only a couple of days use (be sure to keep the strap tightened as the fabric stretches out. Washing the sleeve brought it back to its original size
- Be sure to keep check on your pup regularly. It is possible for the sleeve to come off by slipping down the backside of your dog if they are sitting and moving around (it can slide down and off like a pair of pants.)
BRIGITTE G.
Petits problemes pour l’expédition réglés immédiatement Service contact très réactif
Très bon produit protège efficacement la patte du chien qui l’accepte facilement

Alyssa B.
The lick sleeve is easy to put on and our dog seems perfectly comfortable wearing it while recovering from her TPLO.
Philip M.
My girl Sadie had ACL surgery and was supposed to where a plastic cone so she would not lick her incisions. She was banging up our walls and my wife and I. I got the little inflatable surgery doughnut, but it didn’t prevent her from licking.. we went back to the surgeon to get laser therapy and she had been licking her leg and a couple staples came out. The surgeon and therapist recommended the licking sleeve and it worked great. She wore the sleeve for about three weeks and everything healed great.
Jo Anne B.
I had a positive experience ordering and received the sleeve promptly. My dog is using it and seems comfortable. So far so good! Thank you.
Marybeth S.
Love this. I ordered an extra small and was worried since my dog is super fluffy. Cones and donuts don't work well because he has so much hair. This fits well and my dog is so much more comfortable wearing this.
Terri S.
Helped protect her wound better than having nothing
Leanne J.
Love the Lick Sleeve! Our golden retriever had her first TPLO 6 months ago, then last month tore the other ACL. :(
We refuse to use the plastic lampshade on her, so carried the burden of watching her every minute to be sure she didn't lick the incision. Not an easy task. But then we found the Lick Sleeve and all 3 of us slept through the night! It's so easy to put on, she seems very comfortable in it. My only issue is the buckle is large and thick and lands at her hip, so when she lays on that side, I'm worried it's uncomfortable. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
Pavica K.
The lick sleeve has been great! We still use the E-collar when our dog is crated to extra protection, but the rest of the time the lick sleeve does the job. So easy to adjust and the stretchy material seems comfortable for our pup. Glad we tried this - would recommend to anyone going through a TPLO.
Tiffany L.
Not sure how I feel about this product. While I appreciate the initial concept, for male dogs I feel it's too restrictive of their anatomy. In theory this is a good idea.
Kara R.
Our dog Onyx loves her Lick Sleeve!! Very easy to use, machine washable and reversible! Replaced the cone of shame!
Jeni B.
Love how you can use it on both legs! My dog has to have surgery in both legs but one at a time.
Laurin E.
This unfortunately did not work for my dog's back leg recovery for TPLO surgery. Even though it was wound around a couple of times (the vet surgeon had placed it) the part at the top over her hind kept coming down, and then she couldn't walk. The first night after TPLO surgery she managed to get this off (most likely due to the fact it would not stay), and she licked her wound/sutures all night long. It seems like a great idea! I think it would not get off if it was secured not just above the hind/leg area....if there was more of a middle body suit part to ensure it stayed up. Great product, just did not work for my dog.
Kimberly D.
Best product on the market. Worth every single penny and more! Comfortable, stays in place and adjustable for perfect fit. Highly recommend.
Gene A.
Worked fine - easily adjustable
Brigitte B.
The Small Lick Sleeve fits well on the waist (girth) and left leg diameter for our 16 lb Lhasa Apso. We trimmed 2 inches off the bottom hem and folded it up one inch. She is comfortable and is able to sleep, eat, walk, and take doggy breaks easily. Her ACL repair is completely protected. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this product.
Whitney B.
Works great on our shepherd who just had TPLO surgery. Our vet that did the surgery recommended the Lick Sleeve and it was worth every penny! Just be sure to measure your pup before ordering to ensure you’re getting the correct size!
Patti S.
I’m giving this a 5 out of 5, because it allows us to sleep, knowing Molly can’t get directly to her incision (knee surgery). I think this is the best design out there; although, I think there may be slight room for improvement in the fit around the abdominal area. We take it off when we take her outside to go to bathroom, since she peed on it once. Also, You have to be careful not to make it too tight or it will irritate the skin where the I guess hip and belly meet. It is well worth the price. The material is fantastic— stretchable and breathable. Don’t waste your money on anything else. If you like peace of mind and sleep, this is for you…and your bestie!
Barbara L.
Worked great for our Belle after surgery!
Jasmine M.
A nice, comfortable alternative for my dog that struggled with many different type of cones.
Patricia S.
There should be a loop on the flat strap to keep the adjustable strap from slipping back and forth.
Terri S.
Worked well except wish it had a waterproof covering . Dog licked the sleeve, made it wet and opened her wound a little. Vet provided a cone of shame but she was still able to reach her sore.
